For many, the exclusion of one food in a child’s diet is overwhelming enough - never mind multiple food exclusions. Everyday shopping becomes complicated, as one has to consider both whether the food is allergen free and its nutritional value. In many cases parents have to resort to cooking foods from scratch at home and then go through the disappointment of their child refusing the food. The answer to many disappointing cooking sessions is to buy free-from alternatives. However, they seem to contain additional additives, preservatives and raising agents which may be a cause of concern for some. In addition, labelling laws are continually updated – what does the latest guidance state? This course is aimed at answering these topics and providing practical, day-to-day advice on management of food allergies by experts in the field; and is ideal for both health professionals working in the area and parents of children with food allergies.

You should attend if you are a:

  • Parent or Carer
  • Dietitian
  • Allied health professional involved in the care of allergic children
