 About Great Ormond Street Hospital

The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust (GOSH) first opened its doors on Valentine’s Day 1852 as the Hospital for Sick Children. With only 10 beds, it was the first hospital in the UK dedicated to children. Today, with “the child first and always” as its guiding motto, GOSH is a national centre of excellence in the provision of specialist children's healthcare and delivers the widest range of specialties of any children's hospital in the UK.

The Academy of Paediatric Gastroenterology was founded by Dr. Neil Shah and Dr. Nikhil Thapar, both consultants in paediatric gastroenterology and practicing at GOSH.

GOSH also strives to provide world-class clinical care and training, pioneering new research and treatments, in partnership with others for the benefit of children in the UK and worldwide.

These credentials make GOSH the ideal venue for high-quality continuing education and training. The modern lecture facilities at GOSH are conveniently located adjacent to the hospital in central London, enabling easy access from all over the UK and Europe.
